Behavioural economics and nudges, a beginner’s guide
There has been a lot of talk about the inadequacies of the old economic model of rational economic wo/man and the importance of having theories that account for irrational behaviour and rules of thumb.
In this Viewpoint piece, we provide a short guide to some of the intriguing findings from the field of behavioural economics. We conclude with a brief look at what these might mean for public policy and provide suggestions for further reading.
