Developing the Science and Innovation Audit for Liverpool City Region
SDG Economic Development has been commissioned to undertake the full Science and Innovation Audit (SIA) for the Liverpool City Region. The audit will look at how to link different sectors so that they work together to exploit synergies and identify collaborations, investments and interventions to strengthen and attract businesses and investment.
The work involves stakeholder consultation and intensive data analysis aimed at mapping the City Region’s distinctive innovation capabilities with a particular emphasis on global connectivity in scientific research and the ability to translate this global connectivity into increasing local innovation activity. The SIA is focused on innovation assets associated with Materials Chemistry, Infectious Diseases, and High Performance/Cognitive Computing, which have the potential to create hi-tech jobs and new, internationally significant clusters.
SDG Economic Development is working in close partnership with academics, Liverpool City Council, the Local Enterprise Partnership and a wide range of other stakeholders in order to develop a robust and compelling SIA offering.
Simon Pringle is acting as Project Director. Dr Mark Matthews is acting as Science and Innovation expert. The work will complete in May 2017.
