Options for re-using Manchester University’s North Campus

SDG Economic Development has recently been appointed by the University of Manchester to think through options for repurposing the University's North Campus site, an area with a footprint of approximately 1m sq. ft. and located strategically near Piccadilly rail station.

SDG Economic Development is examining the extent to which the space released might, over time, become a hub or focus for innovative science and/or technology activities. This analysis will involve interactive dialogue processes with the University's academic community, consultations with informed innovation and technology stakeholders, and a review of best practice in repurposing higher education assets in locations elsewhere.

Set within the recently completed Strategic Regeneration Framework for the site, this assessment will involve working closely with CBRE, the University's retained property adviser.

The work is expected to be completed in mid/late Autumn.
